Forum Aerospace Emilia - Romagna
Description
The Forum for the Promotion of the Regional Aerospace Industry is coordinated by the Emilia-Romagna Region and by ART-ER, the in-house company of the Region devoted to Innovation, industrial development and technology transfer. The FORUM brings together and supports companies, universities, and research centers, creating a collective identity to strengthen the aerospace industry. Furthermore, the aim is to cross‑fertilize the aerospace sector with traditional regional industries such as machinery, sports cars, and advanced components taking advantage of the so-called “Space Economy”.
Specifically, the FORUM supports the integration of space technologies into its broader industrial and innovation strategies as well as the valorization of recognized expertise in engineering, advanced materials, mechatronics, automation, and data-driven technologies.
Space highlights
- Well-established aerospace and space-related ecosystem, with companies active across upstream components, advanced manufacturing, materials, avionics, and downstream applications
- ART-ER acting as the main regional facilitator for innovation, technology transfer, and participation in national and European space programmes
- Strong cross-sectoral integration between space technologies and regional industrial strengths, including mechatronics, automation, digital manufacturing, mobility, and data services
- Active involvement in national, ESA, and European initiatives, supporting R&D, industrial innovation, and collaborative projects
- Growing emphasis on space-enabled services, data exploitation, and application-driven solutions for areas such as environmental monitoring, mobility, and smart manufacturing
- DAMA Technopole: Strong and Growing assets characterizing the Data Valley Hub, with HPC Leonardo, data center ECMWF, AI Factory IT4LIA, HPC Margherita (for the PA), for the sake of space data management and downstream applications.
