Our multifunctional structural batteries serve as composite sandwich panels that simultaneously function as load-bearing structures and energy storage systems. Unlike conventional batteries that occupy valuable space as separate components, our technology embeds energy storage directly into the structural elements of satellites, vehicles, aircraft, and maritime vessels. This innovation eliminates bulky traditional battery packs, maximizing available space for passengers, cargo, or mission-critical equipment.

Volta Structural Energy presents a groundbreaking innovation in energy storage technology: the Volta Structural Battery (VSB). Our revolutionary solution seamlessly integrates structural functionality with energy storage capabilities through a proprietary sandwich panel architecture, eliminating the traditional separation between structural components and battery systems.
Core Technology
The VSB technology features our patented pouch cells that form the heart of this innovation. These cells can be customized in various geometries, corrugation patterns, lengths, and widths to meet specific application requirements. Assembled they create a honeycomb panel capable of supporting significant mechanical loads while storing energy.
Within this ingenious honeycomb structure, cells are electrically connected through welded terminals to achieve desired voltage and amperage configurations. The completed structural battery sandwiches this core between two rigid external layers (skins) that provide electrical insulation and mechanical support, resulting in a panel that simultaneously offers structural integrity and energy storage.
